- Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED): Emergency Responders Resources & Training Program (ERR)
- Eligibility available to emergency responders throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
- Funds may be used for emergency responder improvement projects
- Eligible projects must meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Acquisition, construction and rehabilitation of or upgrades to facilities and equipment to support the operation of fire, ambulance and emergency medical services
- Operational support for fire, ambulance and emergency medical services that enhances the health, safety and welfare of PA citizens
- Projects that improve the stability and public safety of the community
- Three funding periods available throughout the year
- Emergency Medical Services Operating Fund (EMSOF)
- Funding accumulated from fines imposed on certain traffic violations
- Funds used for the initiation, expansion, maintenance and improvement of emergency medical services
- Each Pennsylvania regional EMS Council establishes its own regional funding priorities
- Office of the PA State Fire Commissioner Grant
- Eligibility available to volunteer ambulance, fire or rescue companies
- Eligible projects for volunteer ambulance companies include:
- Construction and/or renovation of the volunteer ambulance service’s primary structure facility and purchase or repair of fixtures and furnishings necessary to maintain or improve the capability of the company to provide ambulance, emergency medical, basic life support and advanced life support services
- Purchase of ambulance or rescue equipment or repair thereof
- Debt reduction associated with already completed eligible projects
- Training and certification of members
- Application window typically open during the Fall
